What is Schedule Adherence?

Schedule adherence measures how closely agents stick to their assigned schedule — being available to take contacts at the planned times, and taking breaks and activities when scheduled.

High adherence keeps service levels stable and forecasts accurate; poor adherence creates staffing gaps and missed service levels even when headcount is correct.

It is a core WFM metric and is often paired with quality metrics to balance discipline with experience.
